Setting out the flat car in Dolores
Today I finally got trains running again. I cleaned the track which is a never ending task, and brought out #41 again. The train with #74 at the head dropped off the flatcar loaded with tractors on a passing track at Dolores. In my head it had come from Ridgeway to the northwest - the RGS northern terminus. It then went on southeast (to Durango in my mind). #41 then had the task of getting the car and backing it up into the coaling siding at the end of the station. You might notice the siding is slightly depressed from the other tracks to enable a worker to shovel coal from a gondola into a waiting locomotive tender. With the gondola gone, I can back in the flatcar and when they bring a couple of flat timbers they can drive the tractors off.
By the way, #41 is a very accurate model of the real #41 which currently lives and steams its way around Knotts Berry Farm in California.
