Wareham town centre

Early afternoon, the town is unusually quiet, but wait until tomorrow....

In mid afternoon the main streets will be closed to traffic, and the barriers - visible beside the tree - will be erected. At dusk the Christmas procession will march through the town, and at its end will be Santa Claus. He traditionally climbs onto the roof, and disappears down one of the hotel's chimney stacks. (The one on the left, without any chimney pots to obstruct him on his mission.)

This is a very popular and lively local event.
