Ranthambore
After a long drive today, with a stop-off in a village along the way, and another to get some shots of a camel pulling a cart, we arrived at Ranthambore Park.
We have 2 drives booked in an attempt to see some tigers - I have seen somewhere that the chances of seeing one on a drive is about 1 in 8. Our guide managed to get our first drive in the most picturesque of the zones, with the most water and other forms of wildlife.
At one point the canter (an open bus, but 2 wheel drive and road tyres that were close to being racing slicks) got stuck in some mud, and we had to get out and the men pushed the canter out of the rut it was stuck in.
Among the wildlife that we saw were deer, a rare breed of turtle. an owl in a hole in a tree, a wide variety of birds and some monkeys.
This shot was one of my favourites from a good days shooting.
You may have noticed that I didn't list a tiger among those species that we saw!
