Birthday Angel

The high point of the day was The Mother's 87th birthday!

Throughout the year there have been many times when we thought she wouldn't make it but, there she was, sat in her hospital bed with a dozen cards spread around her and six of us visiting.

It was so nice of The Mother's friends to call in, quite a party atmosphere built up! One of her friends gave her this little angel lapel pin to guide and protect her. Even the patient in the next bed had a box of chocolates to give her!

The low point of the day was discovering that, as I was preparing to celebrate The Mother's longevity, one of my lovely Blipmates, Gillipaw, had lost her mother in recent days. Reassuring to know her friends and family are so supportive.
