The Forest Church
Another in my series of the parish churches of Guernsey.
It was bell ringing practice night so I couldn't resist snapping some of the ringers. These bells are rung from the ground floor and the font is in the middle of the rope circle; luckily positioned evenly around the font and far enough away that the ropes don't catch nor do ringers bang their funny bones. An ideal church to ring at if you don't have the energy for spiral staircases but not such good exercise. The downside of ringing from the body of the church is that when ringing for service everyone can see that you are leaving without staying for the service.
I'll be back here on Friday lunchtime to ring for a wedding. The bride may find it a bit cold if she's wearing a lightweight wedding frock.
Many thanks for all your kind comments on yesterday's pic of Bordeaux which hit the spotlight for some time. Not sure how long because it had gone before I got up in the morning. But I'm delighted it got there at all ;-))
