One of my favourite road running events of the year is The Guys Ten mile race near Garstang in Lancashire.

It's difficult to name one thing that makes it stand out because there are so many factors that make it so good.

First off is the venue itself that is ready for Christmas with all its decorations and festive settings.

Everyone is always in a really good mood so that helps too.

The people at Garstang Running Club are so friendly and make everyone very welcome.

And then there's the cheese that is made round the corner.

It's worth helping out for the cheese.
