In your face...

After two days in Edinburgh in gales and rain we decided to head back to the sunny south. There followed a harrowing journey of driving into blinding sunlight, vision being just about totally obliterated by spray every time a lorry came towards us. One of those journeys where you are squirting the windscreen every few minutes and praying that the washer bottle doesn't empty before you reach your destination. Turned off the A1 in desperation and took the slow speed route down the A697. Here we are doing a steady 50mph into the blinding light somewhere near the Rothbury turnoff.
