Flowers you ask?

Yes, these are flowers. Maple tree flowers, the first flowers of the season. Dark red, tiny and commonly confused with buds. But these are flowers, covering the tree with abundance.

It was Monday, therefore a gray day mood wise. But at the end of the day, walking home the sun shone through the clouds and I remembered that the world is a beautiful place.

Signs of Spring, continued!
- my wild rose bush greening and the tiny pink leaves beginning to sprout
- bulbs beginning to emerge from the soil
- robins singing on territory, their songs more sure and intricate
- squirrels madly gathering food - I think the babies must be born

Sadly, the pigeon nesting on the ledge underneath my window at work has lost a chick. Its body is lying beside the nest while the pigeon incubates the next egg. That's nature, but sad when you see it.
