Advent Fair

This afternoon St John's were holding their Advent Fair. Mum sent me off there with £10 and instructions to buy a cake and spend the rest on anything else that would help their fundraising.

So first port of call was the cake stall, which had plenty on offer - I settled for a date loaf. Then the bottle stall - '£1 a go and every one a winner'. Had three goes and ended up with three bottles of Diet Coke, in ascending orders of size! Next was the 'Pick-A-Stick' game - 20p for 5 picks, with a small money prize if your stick had a coloured tip (they were all stuck into a loaf of bread, hedgehog-fashion). I couldn't resist the lure of the Tombola stall, either - 5 tickets for £1 and a prize guaranteed if your numbers ended in a 5 or 0. I won three prizes with my £1 worth of tickets! Finished off by buying a jar of home-made marmalade from the Jams and Chutneys stall.

A enjoyable afternoon - returned home with my prizes and good wishes to pass on to Mum from several of her friends.
