Hairy monster

I've not been keeping up very well over the last few days, and forgot to post this one. Saw the gap on my calendar, and wondered why it was there!

This is the top of one of my cacti, Oreocereus trollii. The layers of hairs help protect the plant against excessive amounts of radiation, as well as browsing animals. The cactus does have spines as well.
