Stockings

One of my favourite poems. Up there along with "the owl and the pussycat" and my biggest sister's favourite...

"way down south where bananas grow
a grasshopper stepped on an Elephant's toe
The Elephant said with tears in his eyes...
'...pick on someone your OWN size'".

Jinty had a poetry book that I loved when I was little. My youngest is very fond of the poetry book her Grandpa S gave her - Spike Milligans "on the Ning Nang Nong - when the Cows go Bong...." etc.

Thank GOODNESS for on-line shopping. I have spent the evening exercising my credit card.

I should, of course, have been knitting the other stocking. This is one of the pair I offered to make for No 1 - just to see if I could.

Unless she's suddenly become one legged...I better get cracking with the other one.
