Meet Kanya

He is this year's Bridging Programme coordinator (we have twelve new Bridging Year interns under his guidance, whose names I don?t even know yet - unfortunately - but you will get acquainted with them as soon as I do). He is also the resident philosopher at SAEP, but he rarely speaks. Since this is a place where it takes about three days to know every single person, he's become a bit of a mystery for the staff, but I think that unlike most of us his is just a tranquil silence, nothing else to it. If you want his ideas you have only to ask, and you?ll get very good ones.

We are back at Smitswinkel Bay for the staff retreat this year, about twenty strong in the un-electrified beach cabin owned by our Chairman of the Board and some of her friends. It's beautiful, email-free, and I am looking forward to making more personal connections with the people with whom I'm going to take on a hell of a lot of work this year.
