Despite or perhaps because of the political repression, there is an active cultural scene here as illustrated by this stairwell shot. We had a quite day after yesterday's late night at the ball. We got the timing wrong for the Christmas Fayre at the Conrad Hotel and it was all over by the time we arrived. The taxi ride took us to a new part of the Nile Corniche and we spotted a hidden market for exploration another time. Dinner was at the Korean restaurant in Zamalek.
