Deer highway

The field (figuratively, since it is my field site; literally, since we have a huge field at the field sit) is taken over by deer during the winter months. We had a lovely walk at the field site, having fun reading foot (paw) prints from the recent visitors who passed by (only a single human as far as we could see).

P.S. FYI: The flags that mark the ant nests still peep out from under the snow, but no ant or aphid to be seen.
