Wild horses
In the foothills south of Reno. There are many thousands of these mustangs roaming wild in this apparently so dry area. They are descendants of the small Spanish horses that were set free by the first Spanish colonists and have also the blood of the bigger horses in them that were left behind later by federal soldiers who fought some Indian tribes in Nevada.
I have rarely seen 4 horses that close and pretty fearless when I stopped the car and walked towards them. I think that some people feed them when winter comes. Others with bigger ranches would like to see them all disappear because they don't want to share the water and grass with them.
After a very rainy and cold 24 hours, the sun came back for short periods of time today.
Thank you for all your kind comments and stars for my stamp blip. Very much appreciated!
