A stop on my walk along the Kumeras track, to admire the view. This is looking out across Tasman Bay towards Nelson with the cliffs at Mapua on the right. There is fresh snow on the hills in the background.

The sandbar is a favourite spot for walkers. This driftwood construction has been standing for a long time and hasn't suffered at all from anything nature has thrown at it. Many birds nest along the length of sand, which stands above the high tide line.

The tide today is half in or half out, depending on your personal philosophy.
