The Heron that Came to Tea

Sitting in the kitchen minding my own business, when the cry went up: "Have you seen what's in the garden?". I should say, at this point, that ours is a modest suburban garden. How a heron got in it I don't know. We have a small pond with, at the last count, one frog in it. Perhaps I should say that we did have a small pond with a frog in it.

Herons are now doing well in Liverpool, having successfully established a heronry on one of the islands in Sefton Park.

This "snap" was taken through the kitchen window.
