Clitocybe odora
Gorgeous morning, blue sky, just right for walking the dog.
Basil and I met several on our way down Coach Road to the meadow at the bottom of the estate. Too boggy there for building houses.
Across the field into the strip of woodland bordering the northwest edge, and found a forest of fungi, like this one with blue green gills. The closest I can get to identifying it is Clitocybe odora, which is supposed to be edible providing it is cooked. I only took photos.
Back to base and tried out a new gluten free recipe from Phil Vickery - gluten free Whoopee Pies! It worked. Another time, I think I'd take 5 minutes off the cooking time and put in a little more flour, or add a little less milk.
Then off to Gill's with the whoopee pies for her champagne birthday. A marvellous lunch enjoyed with Gill, Geoffrey, her cousins and Nicki.
Too full to eat anything else tonight.
