Piñata Season

Piñata season is upon us in Zihuatanejo. Soon the park next to the traffic circle will be filled with vendors making and selling these colorful creations. The shops in the mercado, however, are getting an early start. When I passed by this cheese shop (those white bricks are blocks of manchego) on my way in to buy bolillo this morning, there was nothing but the usual selection of product. On my way out, less than a half hour later, these piñatas were on display for all to see and hopefully purchase.
