View from the Field of Dreams

It was supposed to rain quite hard today. It didn't. But there was enough moisture in the air to make a nice shot of the view from the field behind our house. I liked the misty air and the black outlines of the oak trees branches. Our back gate and the roof of our house can be seen below, giving an idea of the steepness of the hill we call our garden.

We said good bye to Matt's family and Tim's family this morning, took Ozzie for a walk, and came home to regroup after a wonderful, crazy, busy funl family visit. The Thanksgiving Day football pool wasn't nearly as interesting as the betting on how many trips to the store would be made*, which is only an indication of how many trips were made forwards and backwards between the store, Dana and Jim's house and ours. At times there were five cars in front of our house (not counting ours), and at others, there were none.

Jim is taking Will to his basketball game in Livermore, this evening, and I am going to make dinner for the four of us still standing, with what will probably be only a small portion of the leftover ham. Matt made nine ham sandwiches this morning for the trip home, even though Amy and the girls insisted that they wouldn't eat any.We all tease Jim that he must have been deprived of food as a child, since he always buys four times more food than anybody can eat. He just smiles and says, "that's how I roll…."

I'm glad I don't have to roll to Livermore tonight.
