Frohe Weihnachten!

Day 1 of the Vienna Christmas Market Weekender. There are lots of Christmas markets in Vienna, at least 10 and maybe more... So before we came out I asked former Vienna colleague Sonia to recommend us a few good ones. She gave us her top five suggestions and what was special about each one. She specifically said NOT to go to the one at the city hall as it's too touristy.

Ahem... this is the one at the city hall (sorry Sonia) which we couldn't resist. We ARE tourists, after all! Also, it's the most photogenic :-)

We had a GREAT first day. Several markets, a couple of mugs of punsch (the mugs are in the shape of boots this year, so we're taking them home), about 12 miles of walking, all topped off by fajitas and cocktails at my old favourite neighbourhood restaurant, Pancho's.
