Pont Couverts Strasbourg

A day of exploring Strasbourg.

The morning was taken up with a visit to Parc de L'Orangerie complete with Stork nests, a small collection of animals including some captive Storks who had not flown South for the Winter and joggers. We then visited both the European Parliament and the Palais des Droits de Homme where Stephen is working. Outside we saw groups of tents housing odd ball litigants who hoped to curry favour for their cases.

In the afternoon we visited the Cathdrale and Astronomical clock finished in 1574. Following which we went to see the Barage Vauban across L'Ill. This is the view from the bridge looking towards Petite France.

The evening saw us in a seething mass of humanity clamouring to see the switching on of the Christmas lights. It was well worth it as the illuminations were spectacular. Polished the evening off with a wonderful meal. Suspect there will be a photo book in the making at the end of our break!
