What a day!

We had a "jam club" mums and kids trip to see the kelpies on our Friday afternoon after school. The plan was to go in the afternoon so we'd see them in the daylight and when the lights came on as it got dark. Best laid plans and all that.... 5 families all managed to separately get lost on the way there - signage is rather limited. The sat nav on my phone took us to the football stadium and told me we'd arrived at our destination. I had no idea where to go but luckily eagle eyed C had noticed a banner welcoming us to the helix centre so we drove back to that and took a lucky guess on which way to go. None of us had appreciated that the canal runs through the middle of the horses, nor that they were surrounded by canals ... With kids of age 2-8 who were all overexcited to be out together in a big gang it was a little less easy than we'd thought. We hung around for ages waiting for the lights to come on ...eventually I asked a maintenance man and was informed there was an electrical fault so they wouldn't be coming in.
