Empty Nest

I saw this nest on a late afternoon walk today. It was such a warm day that it felt like summer so it seemed appropriate to post this. Not sure what type of bird called this home. I wonder if they re-use nests?"
As much as I dreaded it, I actually went shopping today - just two stores and I was done. I do not like shopping but it had to be done.
Every year we pick two children through the Salvation Army Christmas gift program and we purchase clothes and toys for them. The big gifts on their lists were a bike (8 yr old Karla will be getting a pink Hello Kitty bike) and a remote controlled car (5 yr old Edgar will receive a remote Jeep). I hope they like them. I hope the gifts bring some cheer and some hope.
I haven't started shopping for family and friends. The Internet is my choice for shopping for the past several years- less aggravating. :)
