Ordinary

I am ordinary.
I am average.
Someone has to be- a lot of someones actually. :)
I know we all like to think we are special. And an argument can be made that we are all special in some way.
Society gives all kids a trophy who play sports so that they don't feel ordinary.
Some schools have stopped naming a valedictorian at commencement in order to not make others feel ordinary.
I think social media like Facebook allows people to present a life that is special, not ordinary.
Somehow it is "less" to be ordinary.
I imagine being extraordinary must be great.
But being ordinary is pretty great too.
I do things because I love doing them, not because I'm special at them.
I choose clothes because I like them, not because I look great in them.
I will admit that my family thinks I'm special and that is more than enough! Lol.
