Chasing Bees

In the acacia
tree, bees in awkward poses

Temperature today will be a rather warm 28 degrees Celsius by afternoon. Warmer than it's been for a couple of weeks. Then it should cool down to low 20s again. That's more my comfort level. Night time temperatures cool to the low teens so no windows open at night. I like not needing either the furnace or the air conditioner. It means some adjusting to cooking plans. The barbeque spares heating up the house on warm days. Also, a small toaster oven out under the awning saves overheating the house then too. Tonight it will be barbequed ribs. I can fix baked potatoes in the microwave and salad comes out of the fridge. Easy.

The sweet acacia tree shown above is shade on the front west corner of the house. The bees and butterflies really like its little yellow blossoms. The leaves of the tree are much like a willow. It is a feathery kind of shade tree that doesn't get too big for a city lot. It does drop a lot of leaf litter and yellow 'crumbles' from the flowers but I think it is worth the clean-up efforts. The other day we looked out to see a woodpecker combing through it. Missed that shot!
