Ram
A day off today for the Thanksgiving holiday (yes, for some odd historical reason we observer thanksgiving on the same weekend as the USA) and it was an absolutely gorgeous day. So we went for a walk in the beautiful winter sunshine. While we were out, we checked our sheep, who are "at the ram" just now. This is our big, gentle, hornless ram (a Texel) who has come expecting a titbit. Notice the coloured crayon strapped to his chest, which is used to mark the rear of every ewe that he mates with so that we know which has been covered. Just as well that we don't observe the same practice for humans, isn't it?
