Old Woman of Miramira
Todays picture shows an old village woman beside a very typical house in the village of Miramira in the Elamuleni area, about 28 km south west of Mzuzu.
The village has 9 houses and about 70 inhabitants.
With our guidance, they completed a dam recently, but obviously haven't managed any further progress.
Harisen's mail shows how projects often come to a halt in the absence of outside affirmation. His presence today will bring another boost to this irrigation project.
Note: I wouldn't be surprised if the old woman was looking for help, as the maize crop in the village was poor this year because of lack of subsidised fertiliser
John,
I was out to Elamuleni with Fraser today, His contract is over.
The land is very steep so we made some terraces and also showed the guys how to di it.
In Sonda Felix advised that next time we dig in we have to allow decomposition before planting because during decomposition, the decaying matters are too hot for crops to grow well, that can be about three to six months. He also added that we should apply C.A.N to boost the growth.
Regards to all.
Harisen
