It has been announced that Aberdeen council are considering releasing about 30 more taxi licences in the city.
There reason at one or two times a week, there are not enough cars.
Really?
This is the Back Wynd taxi rank just after midnight when the pubs closed.
All lined up.
Waiting to move as the rank closes at twelve and relocates onto Union St. Once every body gets a lift.

The papers stated last Friday, that there is waiting list of 150 for people wanting to have their own car. This implies that these 150 are working in another profession meantime. No. They are already driving taxis, just not their own. They are renting cars, a practices that was never allowed previously.
So it will not mean more cars on the road, just different ones.
