MUSEO SACRO Y PLAZA EN ADEJE

Imagine an unfinished concrete building on the side of a mountain with breathtaking views and chambers which go deeper and deeper into the hillside below but is completely abandoned.
This building project by Menis Arquitectos was intended to be an extension to a pre-existing church with an additional space to show artefacts, however after funding dried up a few years back all work has stopped and it has been left abandoned. Unlike an English building site which would be completely closed off so that no one would be able to trespass, this one has been left completely open meaning you can wonder around the spaces that go below the mountain. They are lit by shards of light being brought down and reflecting off the unfinished concrete surfaces creating beautiful and enticing spaces.
