Had a really lovely day today. Lazy start which was nice and were invited out to dinner. A family gathering that for once wasn't at our house.

I was delighted to meet these two really well behaved dogs. Not once did they sniff around the table while we were eating. They stayed in their beds. It made me laugh how they have two beds and both get into the same one....just like our two...much better behaved than Maisie and Oscar, they put ours to shame.

My cousin Jim has been diabetic since he was a child and has to inject himself four times a day. I got him to get his testing kit out to test my blood sugar levels. It's nice to know that I'm fine. I think the rest of the family thought I'd lost the plot when I asked of he would test me....but they all wanted testing in the end.

Came home to find that we couldn't get to our house because of the water flooding through. Dad had to take his trousers, socks and shoes off and get my wellies for me. We parked the cars up safely and waded home.

I can't see the water going down enough by the morning to allow me to get out and do anything. But if the water is still hanging about I think a little kayaking fun might be on the cards.
