I see green!

Yesterday the blipper "Be" asked when I thought all our snow and ice will disappear, so today I blipped this neighborhood shot to show just how much progress we have made in the past few days. For the first time in a long while, I can see a quite a lot of green as I stand in front of our house and look down the street. Granted it isn't the lovely bright green that announces that spring has finally arrived, but it is green, and most of the snow and ice have melted away.

Look closely and you can even see our neighbor washing his car in his driveway. There is nothing unusual about that. He washes it many times throughout the week; his car, and entire property are immaculate. What's unusual is that he is in his shirtsleeves. Me...I was still wearing a jacket, but not the three layers I wore while it was still cold and snowy. So winter is losing its grip. Sure we will still have snow in Ohio and probably lots of cold rain too, but it will be transitory. With each passing day, the air will be warmer, the days longer, the grass greener, and the flowers more plentiful. The one little crocus I saw by my front door today is just the beginning.
