MY FIRST ARMADILLO!!

I wasn't going to go to the end of the nature preserve, because I never see anything back there. As usual, I saw nothing. I started to leave. But...then I spotted something. I pumped the brakes hard, and backed up.

"IT'S AN ARMADILLO!!" The first one I've seen that wasn't dead. I walked right up to him. I guess they don't see well, or hear well. He looked like a rat in armor.

Before I left, there was a raccoon in the parking lot, and a whole bunch of fishing egrets.

Check them out on my FLICKR PAGE. Along with the animals, there are some shots of St. Petersburg, and some shots inside the mansion of John Ringling (of circus fame.) We toured it tonight, but it was SO DARK in the house that it was hard to take photos. NO FLASH ALLOWED!! We also got to go into Mr. Ringling's circus museum.

I stopped in St. Pete after I dropped my daughter, niece, and Merrick off at the airport. They are now home in Michigan, where it is 13F. Yech.
