A Strange One

This pedal is a bit of an odd one. My brother bought it for me, I guess for my 17th or 18th birthday but god knows where he got it from, as by that point it had been out of production for a number of years. Its a weird mix of an overdrive and a tone booster, and actually not bad as an effect for solos etc, but it is a bit 'earthy', so could do with some hum removal.

Gary Hurst who is credited as the designer, made pedals for Hendrix and other famous guitarists, some of which are now fabulously valuable. Sadly this isn't one of them, but no doubt it is collectable these days.

Haven'y mounted it in my pedal board, as it can't take an external power supply and it is very big (particularly when you see the size of the circuit board inside).
