Peas

You may remember that our peahen had four chicks in the summer. She has been an excellent mother, guiding them to independence, teaching them to feed and to fly so that now they sleep high up in the sycamore tree outside our bedroom window. One chick was walker than the others and died quite young. The remaining three were a female and two males. Sadly, the female disappeared yesterday, maybe taken by a fox or a stoat. I hope the other two survive to be fully grown.
