Don't Pick!

The hike today was in a forested area high in the mountains. The city of Oaxaca is at an altitude of 5, 102 ft. (1555 m). The bus took us up a couple thousand ft. more to where the hike began. We then hiked through forest lands up to the summit of 10,590 feet. There was a light drizzle, and at that altitude we were enveloped in misty clouds which blocked the spectacular view. I was on this hike last year, so I could remember!
Wildflowers from tiny to giant, in shades of purple, pink, yellow, and white made up for the lack of views. This giant thistle is one of my favorites, but the stems and leaves are loaded with stickers!
