another unsung hero
black socks.
i wear black. only black. every day. i've done it for many years. i'm not sure why.
my socks must be black, of course. they must be humble - thus they cannot have logos or markings. their elegance must come from their simplicity. they need to fit their purpose. and of course, they must be comfortable.
finding socks to meet these criteria is not easy. a couple of days ago i discovered the sock variety i blip today. simple yet warm and comfortable for padding around our old house in the winter. i will wear this pair around the house for a while. if i like them, i will buy multiples and they will become my winter sock.
in a world of brightly colored socks brimming with "design" and logos, mundane black socks are my heroes. they say nothing. and that says it all.
