The view from Smeaton's Bridge
Although yesterday's heavy rain had stopped by the time I walked back from dinner in Perth last night the river continued to rise overnight.
When Cathleen and I made our way to the conference hall this morning the waters were in full flood though the banks were containing it pretty well.
We took the long way round, walking through the Norrie Miller Park and then over the Old Bridge, sometimes called Smeaton's Bridge, from which this view of the city and the river under grey skies was taken before another exhilarating day of change .
The image struck me at the time - and still strikes me - as northern or middle European more than Scottish.
