The Vital Spark
On our way home we stopped at Inverary as I had never been there . Many of the shops are for the tourist and there is even an all year round Christmas Shop.
We asked the lady in the xmas shop where we could get a good snack lunch and she suggested the coffee shop behind her shop so we went there. Big Mistake! The place was dismal, cold and there were no other customers. The soup came with no bread and tasted only of pepper. My cheese and pickle roll had hardly any cheese. and when one of our party went to the loo she came back and said we would not use it as it was most unpleasant. So we all went down to the pier and paid 20p each. On our way to the pier we passed several tearooms , which looked much more inviting.
The Vital Spark was a book much loved by my father and when he built his Snipe sailing dinghy he called her 'The Vital Spark' .He was thrilled when it was a TV series and watched it faithfully.
