Everything for sale

We toured the lively, colourful, noisy, smelly, exhuberant markets of Mumbai this afternoon after having a cup of tea at the fabulous Taj Mahal Palace Hotel at the waterfront.

I don't know what these women were preparing and selling but they were totally engrossed. Our tour guide Pranav used to be a Mechanical Engineer who became disillusioned with corporate life and decided to branch out doing his own thing.

We saw cloth, animals, fruit, veg, soap, baskets, flowers and a host of other things, including gold and silver in these fabulous markets. India has now overtaken China as the top gold buyer in the world. To finish we fed the sacred cows at the cow sanctuary-some afternoon.
