Black-capped Chickadee
Sometimes the birds just seem to rest - here's a chickadee caught in an uncharacteristically contemplative moment.
We took advantage of the snow today and headed off across the golf course on our skis. I'm not as fit as I was, but at least the motions are still there - it was just like getting back on a bike. The snow was nice, as first snow usually is - no crusty layers to grab hold of an ankle - but we had to break trail, which is always a bit of an effort. Tomorrow should be much more fun!
After we'd conquered the golf course, we checked out the path in the woods that we'd cut in the spring. It was just about doable - a dodgy bit where we cut onto our neighbour's property (Mr. L. got snagged on some hidden barbed wire) but lots of promise for the future.
