Bubbles

Blippers, meet Pauli, one of my little goldfish. I blipped his tankmate Schrödinger a while back so I thought it was time Pauli had his moment of fame!

Pauli is a delicate little fish, he didn't have a great start in life and was sickly when I rescued him from the pet shop. He has trouble with his digestive system and is forever getting little nicks in his fins from the ornaments in the tank, even though I removed all the spikey ones. In general he's healthy and happy though, I just need to keep a closer eye on him than Schrödinger, who's made of very sturdy stuff!

One of Pauli's favourite activities is playing with the bubbles at the top of the tank. He swims backwards and forwards just under the surface, gulping the bubbles down. Unfortunately this usually results in him being unable to swim without bobbing to the top because his tummy is full of air! He's not the smartest fish in the world!

Every so often, instead of just swallowing the bubbles, he holds one in his mouth for a while, swims to the bottom then burps it out before going back to the top and starting again. It seems like quite a fun game actually, here he is with a bubble in his mouth :)
