Bird Geeks

Finally amidst the spectacular natural landscapes that we had come to Sri Lanka to experience, we wasted no time getting out on a couple of rented bikes. Hearing tell of a viewpoint some 9km along the winding hillside road from our cabana, we made that our aim for the morning, but as it transpired there were so many incredible new species of birds, primates, reptiles and insects along the way that we spent less time cycling and more exploring the verges and admiring the views... Which were spectacular!

All in all, around 50 new bird species spotted by the afternoon.
