Forget NEVER

Today we remember, we remember those who bravely gave their lives, the men and woman and animals too, that gave everything to make my life better.

At 11.00 this morning my ward stood silent to honour those that fell.

On the ward at the moment we have a lovely lady who is to celebrate her 104 birthday at the end of November, as she watched she wept.

Her husband had been in the navy and had survived 5 attacks each one taking the lives of his pals.

"He came back a changed man" she told me.

I asked if he was awarded medals, " yes I had to go to Buckingham Palace to collect one of them".

"So you met the queen then?"

" No it was her father".

To all of these people I give thanks.

I buy a simple poppy to say that.

Roo also gives thanks to all the heroes that put the Great in Britain.
