Birks of Aberfeldy
This walk up the steep gorge of the Moness burn in Aberfeldy was immortalised in a poem by Scotland's bard Robert Burns, who penned 'The Birks o’Aberfeldie' in 1787. 'Birks' comes from the Scots word for beech trees. The centre photo shows the misty weather higher up and a carpet of beech leaves; the main picture depicts clearer conditions at the start of the walk.
