Mighty Oaks...

…from little acorns grow.
At least the ones that the woodpeckers don't stash away in our fence
...and the ones that the birds carry off and drop into the driveway to crack the shells
...and the ones that the squirrels don't bury in the yard
…and the hundreds that get run over by cars.
There are also the ones that Rudy brings into our living room and chews up on the rug.
…and the ones that fall onto the patio,
…or the ones that fall on the roof and roll off onto the terrace.
…or the hundreds that the squirrels stash away in unknown places.

Nevertheless, judging by the number of oak trees in Sonoma County, there are plenty of acorns to go around!
