The Old And The New

Woke up this morning to heavy rain. The forecast was for long periods of rain with some breaks - but no guarantee where they might be!

Anyway, around 9:45 the rain eased so we took the chance to get for our walk (don't usually do morning dog walks because they 'forget' and start pestering in the afternoon!). We managed to keep dry and had a good 90 minutes out. The sun even came out for a while.

Found these new catkins on the hazel trees - so we have the old leaves dying off and the new flowers getting ready for spring. Hope they haven't arrived too early.

Got back home to find a concrete mixer lorry parked outside - driver asked if I was expecting some concrete! His satnav had brought him here - the postcode and number matched our address - so someone had messed up. Glad he didn't dump it in the front garden whilst we were out.

Not long after we got in we had heavy rain and thunder -so our walk was well timed.
