The Beach Is Completely Different!
It's been two and a half weeks since our last beach walk, and the changes to the shoreline are a stunning surprise. The river has broken through the seasonal sand barrier and cut our path quite a bit shorter by the way it now meanders away from the cliffs to create a little peninsula that we cannot reach on foot.
There is a runner visible in the center of the image--he ran past me along the tide line and I expected him to stop at the river, but he kept running without hesitation, simply plunged into the river, which came up to his chest, ran through without even screaming at the cold of it and kept going toward the lighthouse. He must have hit water one more time around the point because it was high tide, but I heard not a peep. Way to train!
