Fall Parties

One thing I love about fall is the parties. I’m not sure what it is about this time of year that makes people come together and celebrate. Maybe they’re holding on to what’s left of summer’s heat before winter comes and snatches our time outside away. Maybe it’s the colorful leaves, the slight chill in the air that makes it seem like such a good time to be surrounded by your friends around a fire, drinking apple cider and snacking on pumpkin pie. Whatever it is, I appreciate people’s desire to congregate during the autumn months. I feel it, too. Whenever October comes around I always feel the desire to travel. Well, in reality I feel it all year but it gets especially strong in the fall months. I’m not sure why this is, because I love this place at this time of year. The leaves turn to beautiful colors, there’s fresh apple cider, there’s craft fairs and fall fests and lots of other great things. In my opinion this is one of the best places on earth to celebrate fall. But still, I find myself dreaming of the beaches in Greece or Juniper Springs (a natural spring in Florida that you can swim at, and one of my favorite places in the world). So I like being around people that I love, to remind me that this is where my life is, I have family and friends here and I can’t just pick up and leave it all behind. So I love these get-togethers and parties, whether they’re outside or inside, as long as there’s apple cider of course.
