Family Tree

Initially you might wonder the connections and significance of this collage.

The large tree stands tall and proud, is old but strong, has many outstretched branches supporting lots of smaller networks and has deep seated roots.

When I photographed the tree this morning, as I was looking upwards, the idea came to me that there are many similarities between this tree and my dear Dad.

It is five years ago today since we lost him. Dad was the proudest, strongest, supportive man you would ever have wished to meet. He wasn't that old by today's standards, at 76, and as you can see from the photo top right, which was taken 3 months before he died, he didn't really look his age either........he always did think he was Peter Pan :-)

He always said he never wanted to be a burden in old age and that he "wanted to go quickly". Well Dad you got your wish on both counts!

We miss you.
